Shelby Whitwam

Dancers

Shelby is from Holden Beach, North Carolina. She is a 2023 graduate of The Academy of Dance & Fine Arts. Shelby has trained in many styles of dance, including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, modern, and Acro. She began dancing at the age of 2, and has trained under top choreographers across the country. Shelby began student teaching and choreographing when she was 13, and has been teaching at The Academy of Dance & Fine Arts for the past 2 years. Shelby also danced competitively for many years, winning numerous regional and national awards and titles. During her time as a competitive dancer, Shelby was singled out multiple times for her emotional execution and passion for dance, and she is super excited to join the Alabama Theatre family and to bring that passion and love for dance to the Alabama Theatre stage.
