Box Office Sales Agent

The Alabama Theatre is seeking Box Office Sales Agents for the following:

  • Serve customers by selling show tickets and additional packages while meeting customer needs
  • Set and makes follow-up calls to customers who weren't able to commit to booking a reservation on the initial phone call
  • Meet or exceeds sales goals
  • Keep a high level of product knowledge and services

Preferred Skills:

  • Well-spoken and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully operate in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Self-sufficient and an exceptional problem solver

Sales Focused - Ability to overcome customer objections. Flexible availability including the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Ushers & Concessions Team Members

Alabama Theatre is seeking front-of-house ushers & concessions team members:

  • Who can treat our guests with courtesy and respect and assist them throughout the show to ensure their visit is safe, clean, fun, and family-friendly
  • Verify tickets and scan for entry, this includes checking tickets to make sure guest are in the appropriate sections
  • Distribute programs and other promotional items to guests as required. Guide guests to ticketed seats
  • Serve drinks, popcorn, and other concessions items
  • Assist in keeping the front of house clean and well organized.

Audio Engineer

Position Purpose:

  • Doing all possible to ensure the continuing high standards of live show audio reinforcement, that the Alabama Theatre has come to be associated with over the past two decades

This position reports directly to the Production Manager, COO and Managing Partners.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To accept the inherent challenges of Live Show Audio Reinforcement.
  • Maintenance and operation of all said sound systems administered by the Alabama Theatre.
  • Continued quality control of mixing/sound quality of said sound systems administered by the Alabama Theatre in conjunction with all stated Show Producers and Show Partners. Understanding that the final decision of mix, volume and quality will be the Show Producers and Show Partners.
  • To delegate and Assist in all training of all acceptable substitute Engineers. Taking a lead in the decision of who compromises acceptable substitutes, in conjunction with the Production Manager.
  • Direct accountability for the Audio actions of stated show and those technically involved directly/indirectly with the Show Audio. Lead with positive influences, especially with those contracted in, and/or those on our payroll. Take pride in the facility, and do all with in your ability to maintain our assets, facilities, exuding confidence in our business of Live Show performance. Other activities: • Support all other show disciplines with assistance when needed. • Expand and develop Audio ability and credibility.
  • Enforce and maintain company rules and regulations.
  • Any activity that the Alabama Theatre deems important and necessary for the greater business.

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of qualifiable large format Audio experience (both Road and Theatre)
  • 3-5 years of Labor and Crew supervision experience
  • 2-3 Years RF Calibration and Coordination
  • 3-5 years of Production Services (very helpful)
  • Experience in all aspects of theatrical business, especially the load in and out of sets, props, and band gear, and all equipment associated with this process.
  • Crown IQ Certification (very helpful)
  • Dante Certification (very helpful)
  • QSC Certification (very helpful)
  • Q Lab experience helpful Soldering experience a MUST

Physical/Mental/Visual Requirements:

  • Requires continuous mental and visual attention. Specifically in relation to staff, rehearsals, show operation and production deadlines.
  • This position can be physically demanding in time frames, applicant should be able to safely complete all tasks, and find ways to not compromise safety for sake of the end result.
  • Must be able to hear well in a noisy or musical environment that approaches 100db.
  • Computer skills, PC and Mac.
  • Must be able to adjust to changing work schedules.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to think clearly and react quickly and calmly in stressful situations.

Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. Company Health Benefits available. Must be able to relocate to the Myrtle Beach, SC area and commit to at least a 4-5 year contract
