Musicians
Robert is originally from Sarasota, FL, but he comes to Myrtle Beach from Atlanta, GA. He started singing and playing as a multi-instrumentalist at the age of 3. He performed gospel music in church, he would play and sing traveling with his father who was a popular guitarist and vocalist, and he’d also sing and play for musical theatre productions. At the age of 13 he was given his first Musical Director opportunity, and since piano spoke to him more than any other instrument that he played, he chose to “MD” from the piano, and officially made the piano his main instrument. Honing his skills over the years has afforded him the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally with Gospel and R&B Legends such as Andrae Crouch, Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers, Keith Sweat, and Teddy Riley just to name a few. He’s also done vocal and instrumental arrangements for Joyful! A Gospel Celebration of the Season, a Christmas production that is still running at Disney’s EPCOT in Orlando, FL. He’s also the Music Director for the Motown Special production, which has been traveling for 2 years. Outside of his love and passion for music, Robert is a devoted and loving father to his children. He brings over 35 years of experience to the Alabama Theatre, and he is very excited to be here.
